Addressable Disconnect Tool
Allied-Horizontal’s Addressable Disconnect Tool (ADT), designed to be used in conditions that may present a risk of wireline tools or guns becoming stuck, saves time and expense in the recovery process.

The ADT is a ballistic tool that can be used when the gun system is comprised of addressable detonator switches. The rugged ADT needs no shock sub and can be lifted with any tool string that includes CCL , with no need for a sleeve or lifting assist. Without the use of any explosives other than the detonator in the device, Allied-Horizontal further demonstrates its commitment to safety at the wellsite.

When the decision is made to disconnect, a specific code is sent to the addressable switch, supplying current to fire the detonator. The explosion expands the separation collar and actuates a shear ring to sever the equalizing plug inside the ADT. At this point the tool is parted, leaving a retrievable fishing neck downhole. Releasing above the fishing neck gives the operator several advantages.

Continuous operation for multi-well or zipper operation
A clean fishing job – tool string will part as intended
No parting of wireline during overpull that can leave hundreds of feet of wireline in well
Multiple fail safe systems to guard against accidental release
