QuickDrill™
QuickDrill™ enhances the efficiency of a wire line coring system by lowering a bit into the center of the core head creating a full hole drill bit.

QuickDrill™ Information

QuickDrill™ enhances the efficiency of a wire line coring system by lowering a bit into the center of the core head creating a full hole drill bit. The QuickDrill™ can be used to drill out the casing shoe, drill to core point, or TD the well without tripping the drill pipe. The center bit is lowered into place via wire line and can be removed and reinstalled multiple times in the same well bore without tripping drill pipe.

Benefits

QuickDrill™ is a feature that saves the customer valuable time when cutting multi zone cores or when utilizing top set casing. QuickDrill™ transforms the core head to a full hole drill bit. The center portion of the bit is lowered into place via wire line and then oriented exactly to the core head to ensure bit balance is maintained. QuickDrill™ is used just as any standard drill bit would be and when the drilling is completed it may be removed via wire line in order for the coring operations to continue. This feature is most commonly used to TD the well bore.

Once coring operations have finished then the QuickDrill™ bit can be set in place via wire line in minutes. The open hole necessary for logging the coring section can be achieved immediately eliminating a trip out to lay down the coring BHA and a trip back in with a standard drilling BHA. The QuickDrill™ bit can be set and removed an infinite amount of times in a single well bore. To switch from coring to drilling does not require any drill pipe to be tripped and circulating operations may continue while the bit is being set or retrieved.
