Wild Well completed the rigless and riserless plug and abandonment of eight subsea wells in West Africa. Crews isolated the ‘B’ annulus by hot tapping below the wellhead and circulating fluids to surface. The plug and abandonment work was completed using a construction vessel, saving the operator money when compared to rig-based operations.
CHALLENGES
Extremely sub-ambient production zones
Communication between production tubing and casing complicated operation
‘B’ annular isolation required
SUMMARY OF OPERATIONS
Pulled crown plugs with slickline
Performed gauge ring runs with slickline
Perforated production tubing and production casing with electric line
Severed tubing with electric line
Set cast iron bridge plugs with electric line
