SEABED TRENCHING
Canyon Offshore has over 15 years of experience trenching seabeds of differing compositions and water depths, from shallow inter-array cable burials to deepwater pipeline burial programs. Trenching and burial of products is performed for protection from the risk of damage, for flow assurance from the insulating properties that trenching provides, or to accommodate future seabed installation requirements.

Canyon Offshore is involved at every stage of a project, offering clients the wealth of their experience from FEED through to the installation stage of the project and the trenching that is then undertaken. At the FEED stage, surveys consisting of both geotechnical and geophysical investigations will be completed, from which an analysis will be produced to identify target trench depth and optimum trenching methodology. In Canyon’s experience, certain seabeds will only require a jet trencher, whilst other areas may require a heavy soils trencher or a combination of both. For this reason Canyon Offshore was the first trenching contractor to develop an all up primary trenching solution mobilising both its heavy soils trencher and high power jet trencher on to one vessel.
