CleanWell® specialty tools introduce a number of innovative mechanical systems that provide solutions to common and unique applications. These tools are part of a comprehensive tool box which allow for customized cleanout designs and use. It‘s all part of the CleanWell system value proposition and commitment to our clients to remain dynamic and responsive to industry evolution.
HydraTech™ Downhole Wiper Displacement
The CleanWell® HydraTech® downhole wiper displacement tool changes conventional displacement processes. It provides a mechanical barrier that wipes the casing ID clean, while pushing mud into the drillpipe as the tool is descending in the wellbore. An intermediate fluid or completion brine is back filled into the annulus to replace the mud while tripping to bottom, saving critical rig time. Once on bottom, the design allows for the remaining mud in the drillpipe to be reverse circulated out, taking advantage of the high drillpipe velocities so that pit management can begin. If forward or conventional circulation is desired, the tool can be activated to restore standard pumping or displacement activities.
This tool is robust and promotes good industry practices such as rotation, reciprocation and the integration into single-trip intervention runs. The HydraTech tool is supported by Halliburton‘s drillpipe circulating (DPC) tool, which manages mud flow back at the surface. This tool is ideal for deviated wellbores. The solids or debris on the low side are forced into the drillpipe that would not be hydraulically removed through conventional circulating efforts.
The HydraTech tool is most commonly utilized with other mechanical wellbore cleaning systems, including the Drill Tech®, Bristle Tech®, Mag Tech® and Vali Tech® tools.
Inflow Tech® Test Packer
The CleanWell® Inflow Tech® test packer is designed to perform isolated negative or positive inflow tests on downhole liner tops. The tool has top and bottom connections and can be run in conjunction with other wellbore cleaning tools promoting “single-trip” displacement runs.
The Inflow Tech test packer is equipped to promote quick trip speeds with generous bypass area under the packer element. Rather than loading the liner top during the inflow test, the slip system eliminates the potential for liner-top damage due to excessive compressional forces and helps manage critical spaceout issues. These proven components can be used during drilling operations, or more traditionally, during the displacement process.
Pressure Tech™ Test Sub
The CleanWell® Pressure Tech™ test sub is designed to allow drillpipe to be /exed and shocked, assisting with cement sheath, scale or debris removal. O0en the same drillpipe on the rig is used when running and cementing the liner for the displacement. Rather than introducing and handling residual debris throughout the displacement, the Pressure Tech test sub allows the string to be /exed and shocked, allowing debris to be reversed out to surface.1is process is typically completed in mud or in combination with a good carrying capacity /uid or system so that debris can be transported to surface.
The test sub is equipped with a reverse catch to prevent the ball from being reversed out with the debris. Tremendous in-line /ow area around the ball allows the displacement to be completed without a circulating /ow restriction or concern, once the /exing sequence is complete. If the drillpipe is to be used on subsequent gravel or frac pack operations, the Pressure Tech test sub can be deployed deep and used to pressure test the drill pipe integrity before critical use.The Pressure Tech test sub can be used in conjunction with other downhole pressure-activated systems.
Reverse Pro® Mandrel
The CleanWell® Reverse Pro® mandrel is designed to assist in reverse-circulating (or forward circulating on a choke) applications where rotation and reciprocation is required. The high-pressure proprietary seal system allows reverse-circulating pressures to be managed at the surface. With the static outer mandrel, stripping pipe through the annular blow out preventer during the rotation and reciprocation sequence is no longer required. The tool is designed to take advantage of high drillpipe velocities without having to sacrifice the enhancements of pipe movement while circulating.
StimTech® Long-Stroke Slick Joint
The CleanWell® StimTech® long-stroke slick joint is designed to mitigate concerns of stripping a tool joint through the hydril during frac, gravel pack, tubing conveyed perforating (TCP) or other sequences requiring the back side to remain closed. This slick joint helps with critical spaceout demands and allows easement for keeping weight down during pumping operations or stripping to cycle downhole valves. This tool protects the hydril from damage when stripping by minimizing the mid-tool joint upset.
The StimTech slick joint meets all Range 3 drillpipe technical specifications and can be sheared in the event of a well control situation.
Tru-Drift® Mill Sleeve
The CleanWell® Tru-Drift® mill sleeve is designed to provide a 360° downhole drift simulation. Water-coursed stabilizers are locked to the integral mandrel allowing the mill sleeve to be rotated and to mechanically assist in addressing casing tight spots or restrictions. The mill sleeve can be dressed with tapered tungsten mills for aggressive casing ID restoration or standard stabilizers for routine drift validation.
The Tru-Drift mill sleeve can be run in conjunction with other casing cleaning systems and often eliminates the need to make a wireline / gauge ring run subsequent to displacement operations. The mill sleeve can save valuable rig time and helps ensure no NPT is encountered when deploying critical OD equipment downhole.
