Halliburton is one of the world‘s leading subsea umbilical testing and commissioning companies providing third party verification testing across the globe. Halliburton provides the complete range of hydraulic, electrical and optical testing and commissioning services through a single, integrated project management team. This approach provides you with savings in manpower, schedule and nonproductive time while enhancing overall project safety and quality through the elimination of third party interfaces. Available services include the following:
•Hydraulic Testing and Commissioning Services
•Electrical Testing and Commissioning Services
•Fiber Optic Cable Testing Services
Hydraulic Testing and Commissioning Services
Due to the critical nature of the systems and valves controlled by hydraulic umbilicals, it is essential that the hydraulic fluid be cleaned to required specifications. The lines and connections must be completely free from leakage for proper system operation and reliability. Halliburton provides hydraulic flushing, fluid displacement, and fluid replacement services to meet your project requirements. All hydraulic operations are designed and performed to deliver results meeting your projects specific fluid cleanliness, moisture content, or other specific requirements.
•Fluid Flushing
•Hydraulic Decay and Proof Pressure Testing
•Particle Analysis
•Fluid Change Out
•Valve Operations
Electrical Testing and Commissioning Services
Subsea equipment requires reliable electrical power and signal cables to provide vital control and data transmission. High voltage cables are often used to supply power to satellite platforms and subsea pumps. More recently such high voltage cables are also being used to transmit power from offshore renewable energy sources to onshore distribution systems. Halliburton provides electrical testing services for all such cable types. Umbilical electrical cables are tested for continuity resistance (CR) and insulation resistance (IR). High voltage very low frequency (HVVLF) tests are performed to prove the integrity of the high voltage cables. Time domain reflectometry (TDR) traces are also taken on these cables to establish a cable signature. These traces can be used to establish accurate lengths and can also be used to identify and locate various fault conditions such as water ingress.
•DC Conductor Resistance (CR) Testing
•Insulation Resistance (IR) Testing
•High Voltage Very Low Frequency (HVVLF) AC Testing
•Electrical Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) Testing
Fiber Optic Cable Testing Services
Halliburton performs fiber optic testing on both multimode and single mode fiber optic cables. Subsea umbilicals tend to have loose tube fiber optic cables in them although topside cables can be ribbon fibers or loose tube construction. Halliburton umbilical services personnel are all formally trained to perform attenuation measurements using both optical time domain reflectometry (OTDR) or light source and power meters. In addition to attenuation measurement, Halliburton umbilical technicians and engineers are capable of mechanical and fusion splicing of both multimode and single mode fiber optic cables.
•Fiber Splicing
•Optical Time Domain Reflectometry (OTDR) Testing
•Light Source And Power Meter Attenuation Testing
