Built upon decades of pioneering innovation in ball and taper technology, Balltec Engineered Solutions has provided some of the world’s most prestigious projects with technically challenging systems, equipment and services on a global scale.
Balltec was established in 2004 by its founder Bob Emmett as a vehicle for further development of ball and taper technology for use in mooring connections, pipeline recovery systems and heavy lifting applications, primarily in offshore environments. The story started back in 1983 when Bob designed, manufactured and patented the world’s first ball and taper device for oil and gas applications, followed shortly after, in 1986, by a revolutionary weld-less mechanical pipe connector that later became the Morgrip which is still in use today.
Today from its Global HQ based in the UK, the company is continuing the spirit of innovation in research and development established by the company’s founder. The company has continually found new applications for ball and taper technology and has also developed solutions and large bespoke engineered equipment for technically demanding projects.
